Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have apprehended several members of the Edo State Security Network (ESSN) in connection with the death of Omobude, according to a statement by Commissioner of Police Funsho Adegboye.

Commissioner Adegboye disclosed to journalists in Benin City that the ESSN members were summoned by Hassan Haladu during an altercation involving the deceased. Upon their arrival at the scene, the ESSN reportedly restrained Omobude, leading to his unfortunate death due to suffocation.

Following the incident, operatives from the Ikpoba Hill Divisional Headquarters swiftly intervened and arrested six suspects. The deceased's body has been transferred to Our Clinic Hospital for autopsy, and investigations into the matter are underway.

In another development, Commissioner Adegboye announced the arrest of Akhere Solomon, an alleged serial killer implicated in recent cult-related murders across the state. The arrest stemmed from a murder case reported by Samuel, who alleged that his brother was shot dead by suspected cultists.

According to Commissioner Adegboye, the investigation led to Solomon's apprehension. The suspect confessed to being a member of the Eiye secret cult confraternity and admitted his involvement in several recent cult-related killings in Edo State.

Efforts are currently ongoing to apprehend other fugitive members involved in the cult-related violence, as the police intensify efforts to restore peace and ensure justice in the state.
