The Ganduje Ward Executive Council in Kano State's Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area has suspended Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The announcement was made by the council's chair, Haruna Gwanjo, at a press conference in Kano on Monday.
Gwanjo emphasized that Ganduje, the former governor, needs to address the corruption allegations stemming from an ongoing dollar-related case. He is currently facing eight counts of charges brought against him by the state government under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The charges involve Ganduje and six others, accusing them of dollar bribery, misappropriation of public funds, and diversion of funds amounting to $413,000 and N1.38 billion. Other individuals named in the court filings are Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, as well as companies like Lamash Properties Ltd, Safari Textiles Ltd, and Lesage General Enterprises.
